Isabelle Huppert shines as Sylvia, a young prostitute living in Nice who has a tenuous relationship with her estranged teenage daughter, Laurence (Maud Forget). When Laurence commits a crime, mother and daughter take it on the lam to the countryside, where they struggle to reconcile their differences while Sylvia searches for her first husband. They're aided along the way by car thief Joshua (Pascal Greggory), who's also evading the law.
