2003 Rated NR 1hr 5m

Desperate to persuade her boyfriend not to leave her, an emotional woman (Anne-Sophie Schmidt) pleads with him in a lengthy phone conversation in this opera conducted by Pierre Jourdan. The story comes from the mind of renowned writer and filmmaker Jean Cocteau, with composer Francis Poulenc behind the music, a tumultuous score that perfectly expresses the woman's tension, torment and swiftly shifting moods throughout the dramatic call.
