Hoping to raise funds by selling a ramshackle house that was donated to their church, three aging friends (Florence Henderson, Pam Grier and Donna Mills) offer to renovate the place themselves -- only to find the work lies significantly outside their collective skill set. As they get a crash course in plumbing, carpentry and other construction arts, they also build their friendship by helping one another through myriad personal crises at home.
