Lebanese Political Parties: The Kataeb Party
Founded by Sheik Pierre Gemayel in 1936 amid Arab attacks on Christian neighborhoods, the Kataeb Party -- also known as the Phalange Party -- began as a spirited youth movement and grew into one of the country's most important parties by the 1960s. This documentary chronicles the party's creation and eventual transformation in the 1970s into a militia under the command of Gemayal's son Bachir, who was elected president of the republic in 1982.
