A neighborhood shoeshine shop provides the setting for four bittersweet yet comic relationship stories. Aging owner Frank's (Charles Moore) unlikely fling with a young beauty (Cassandra Lewis) is at the heart of the film. His observations of other relationships -- between one daughter (Sherrice Eaglin) and her son, his other daughter (Carol Hall) and her philandering boyfriend (Ray Dainton), and a troubled pair of newlyweds -- illuminate his own.
