Mahler: Symphony No. 3
Hailed as one of the pre-eminent interpreters of Austrian composer Gustav Mahler's works, conductor Bernard Haitink famously led the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra through a Mahler cycle in the early 1990s. This program captures part of that cycle: the Third Symphony, a six-movement piece that Mahler considered one of his best. Vocalists include mezzo-soprano Florence Quivar, along with the Ernst-Senff Choir and the Tolzer Children's Choir.
