Poldark, the drama that has become a cultural phenomenon, continues for a second season on the stunning beaches of Cornwall. It's 1790 and there is riot and revolution in the air. Ross Poldark, the character redefined by the smoldering Aidan Turner, must fight for his freedom when George Warleggan tries to have him hanged as a revolutionary. While Francis and Elizabeth watch on in horror, can Demelza save Ross from himself?

Ross Poldark's life is as complicated as ever as he and Demelza work to save their relationship, while Elizabeth -- still wed to George -- may be carrying Ross' child. Elsewhere, the French capture Dwight.

This season, the action moves beyond Cornwall to London as Poldark enters the political fray to thwart George Warleggan's bid to become a member of parliament. Later, Dwight and Caroline suffer a tragedy.

Following the death of Elizabeth, Ross Poldark resolves to put Westminster behind him. But when an old friend pleads for help, Ross is compelled to challenge the establishment again, drawing the Poldarks into greater danger than ever before. As the Enyses join the cause, Demelza must contend with dangers closer to home, and George courts corrupt powers whose influence spans the Empire.
