Based on the murky historical tale about a suicide pact between Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria and his teenage mistress, Baroness Mary Vetsera, this ballet created by Kenneth MacMillan features the music of composer Franz Liszt. Performed at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, this lavish 1994 production stars Viviana Durante, Irek Mukhamedov and Lesley Collier. Barry Wordsworth conducts the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.
