Mission to Mississippi

2007 Rated NR 46m

Eighteen months after Hurricane Katrina laid waste to the Gulf Coast, filmmaker Lewis Stiefel documented the mission of some New York City volunteers who visited Ocean Springs, Miss., to aid one community still struggling to recover from the storm. The film centers on the efforts to help the Hale family rebuild their home, while interviews with volunteers, organizers and Mississippi residents underscore the extent of the devastation.
