When wealthy novelist Teresa (Janet Margolin) turns up dead, Columbo (Peter Falk) suspects her lover, Wayne (Andrew Stevens), might be guilty in Murder in Malibu. Columbo Goes to College follows the detective's visit to lecture at a college campus, where two students kill their professor. More than willing to assist in the investigation, the guilty kids have no idea how intelligent the rumpled detective really is until it's too late.
