My Old Man
Frank Butler (Warren Oates), a drunken, down-on-his-luck horse trainer, reunites with his teenage daughter, Jo (Kristy McNichol), whom he hasn't seen in years. Frank takes Jo under his wing and introduces her to the horse-racing circuit, but a scandal that he just can't seem to outrun still haunts him. Eileen Brennan co-stars as a kind waitress who befriends the pair. This 1979 TV movie is loosely based on an Ernest Hemingway short story.
