Provincialism is the focus of director Mohan Segal's thought-provoking tale about Anand (Kishore Kumar), a Punjabi who poses as a Tamilian to rent a room from one of Delhi's caste-conscious property owners. Though his disguise helps Anand gain lodging, he regrets his ruse when the truth comes out after he falls for a local big wig's daughter (Vyjayanthimala). The cast also includes Nasir Hussain and Nana Palsikar.
