A boxer must fight for his future and a detective uncovers a mystery in a creepy mansion in two early Alfred Hitchcock thrillers. In The Ring, Circus act Jack "One Round" Sander (Carl Brisson) gets his lucky break when a famous boxer takes his challenge in the ring, but Jack discovers that the prize his nemesis is after is Jack's girl. In Number 17, a detective (John Stuart) discovers a gang of jewel thieves hiding out in an abandoned house.
