In a slum outside Lisbon, a young father (Nuno Vaz) wraps his newborn in a garbage bag and uses the baby as a prop for begging. As the infant's troubled mother (Mariya Lipkina) tracks down her child, the increasingly desperate father tries to sell the baby. Writer-director Pedro Costa was nominated for a Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival for this unnerving drama. Isabel Ruth and Inês de Medeiros co-star.
