It's more like high noon when Alain Delon, as the cagey Tom Ripley, murders his rich friend Philippe Greenleaf (Maurice Ronet) and then co-opts his life in René Clément's 1960 film adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's novel &NFi;The Talented Mr. Ripley&NFi_;. The suspense builds as Ripley's complicated impersonation gradually circles back and entraps him in his own manufactured web of deceit and murder.
