After a series of audacious jewel heists take place in Bombay, industrious upright cop Pradhan (Vinod Khanna) hatches a plan to use pretty fellow officer Meena (Mumtaz) as bait to lure the mastermind behind the thefts: Ranjit Kumar (Rajesh Khanna). But the scheme works a little too well when Meena falls in love with Ranjit, jeopardizing her cover, Pradhan's integrity and the entire case. Kamal Kapoor plays the police commissioner.
