Though penniless social worker Saraswatichandra (Manish) would rather remain a bachelor, he agrees to marry Kumud Sundari (Nutan) to appease his father (Shivraj). Once Saraswatichandra meets his beautiful bride-to-be, however, he immediately becomes smitten and falls deeply in love until Kumud yields to family pressure and weds a rich two-timer (Ramesh Deo) in this engrossing film from director Govind Saraiya.
