In Ancient Egypt, Mathayus, The Scorpion King, is living in a small town and working as a blacksmith. He is drawn out of his seclusion by an evil war lord, Nebserek, who has unearthed a cursed sword, The Fang of Anubis, that steals the souls of its victims. However, there is one way to destroy the sword: The Book of Souls. Pulled from his simple life, Mathayus reluctantly joins the Nubian Princess, Tala, on a quest to find the Book of Souls and destroy The Fang of Anubis.
