Secrets of the Dead: Umbrella Assassin
Applying "CSI"-style techniques to a Cold War crime, this PBS presentation explores the 1978 death of a Bulgarian dissident living in England. When Georgi Markov felt a sharp sting in his thigh while boarding a bus, he knew almost instantly that he'd been injected with a poison pellet. It took his death, however, to convince anyone else. Now, using newly discovered evidence, the weapon -- an umbrella -- is revealed, along with several suspects.
