Common Sense Note
Parents need to know that She's Funny That Way is a farcical comedy with mature themes -- including infidelity, prostitution, and stalking -- that make it a little too intense for younger audiences. There's no nudity (in fact, there's not much action at all, considering it's a movie about a prostitute), but you can expect lots of innuendo, sexual references, and a couple of scenes in which sex is implied, though the only body part shown in s a man's naked chest. Adults drink socially, and there's some swearing ("s--t," "f--k," "damn").
Sexual
Content
For a film about a prostitute and her besotted "dates," there's not much sex. There's talk of it (with some racy references/innuendoes), but not action: Couples are shown under the covers, the man's chest visible. Some kissing and innuendo. Simulated sex during an audition.
Violence
A father makes verbal threats on behalf of his daughter, whom he feels is being misjudged. A few people are slapped or punched.
Language
Some use of words including "f--k," "s--t," "idiot," "damn" and "ass."
Social
Behavior
Amid themes including infidelity and prostitution is the idea that when life gives you the opportunity to chase after your dreams, you should take it.
