Silver Lode

1954 Rated NR 1hr 20m

On the day of his wedding to the beautiful Rose Evans (Lizabeth Scott), honorable sheriff Dan Ballard (John Payne) raises the suspicions of his friends when he's served with an arrest warrant by Ned McCarthy (Dan Duryea), a mysterious outsider claiming to be a U.S. Marshal. Director Allan Dwan's thinly veiled parable of McCarthyism (note the marshal's name) also stars Dolores Moran as a dance hall girl who goes out on a limb for Ballard.
