Verdi's great opera, set in 14th century Genoa, is stylishly reinvented by Peter Hall for a masterful performance. With gorgeous sets and colorful costumes from John Gunter, the scene is expertly set, contrasting a backdrop of gloomy politics with a glimmering distant sea. Part of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera, this production co-stars Peter Sidhom, Daniel Borowski, Giancarlo Pasquetto and Alastair Miles. Mark Elder conducts.
