African American funnyman Mantan Moreland is the connecting thread in this double feature of early comedies, starring opposite boxing great Joe Louis and frequent collaborator F.E. Miller. In Spirit of Youth, a boxer (Louis) finds great success only to have his heart broken by a nightclub singer. In Lucky Ghost, two down-on-their luck friends (Moreland and Miller) win a casino, but it turns out to be haunted.
