While waiting to be shipped to Vietnam, young soldiers Billy (Matthew Modine), Roger (David Alan Grier), Richie (Mitchell Lichtenstein) and Carlyle (Michael Wright) deal with racial tension and their own homophobia when Richie reveals he's gay in this edgy drama from acclaimed director Robert Altman. Based on David Rabe's award-winning Broadway play, the film co-stars George Dzundza and Guy Boyd as the recruits' jaded sergeants.
