A year after his mother's death, successful Tokyo photographer Takeru (Jô Odagiri) visits his tiny hometown and reunites with his brother Minoru (Teruyuki Kagawa) and his childhood friend Chieko (Yoko Maki). But soon, a deadly hiking accident sparks a painful trial, exposing seething jealousies and resentment within the family. Odagiri and Kagawa were both nominated for Japanese Academy Awards for their roles.
