TV Party: Premier Episode: December 18, 1978
After guesting on the cable show "If I Can't Dance, You Can Keep Your Revolution," punk personality Glenn O'Brien started "TV Party" -- dubbed "the cocktail party that could become a political party." Airing a week before Christmas in 1978, the debut episode featured Blondie guitarist Chris Stein, who served as O'Brien's co-host, and Factory brat Walter Steding, who led the innovative late-night program's orchestra.
