Common Sense Note

Parents need to know that The Best Man Holiday, an ensemble dramedy starring Taye Diggs, Morris Chestnut, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, and Terrence Howard, offers plenty of laughs but mostly around mature topics, including sex, marital discord, financial instability, and the like. The film, a sequel to The Best Man, is pretty gloomy too, touching on the subject of mortality and chronic illness around Christmas-time. There is plenty of sexual innuendo and swearing, too, including "f--k."

Sexual Content

Couples are shown getting intimate, the men shirtless. No genitals or breasts are shown. A man is shown taking photos of his penis, though we don't see it. Frank discussions of a few sex acts, though euphemisms are used to name them. A YouTube video is viewed by a few characters numerous times, showing a woman seemingly accepting money for what presumably is a sex act behind closed doors.

Violence

Two men fight, and one clutches the other by his shirt. A football player loses his cool on the field and throws his helmet at the bench. Couples scream at each other. Two women try to beat each other up.

Language

A fair sprinkling of everything, including "f--k," "d--k," "---hole," "hell," "damn," "p---y," "s--t", and "motherf--ker," sometimes uttered in front of children.

Social Behavior

Loyal old friends can see you through life's toughest challenges.

Consumerism

Some brand names are shown or named, including BlackBerry, Budweiser, Audi, Sports Illustrated, YouTube, Apple, Lexus, and the New York Giants.

Drugs / Tobacco / Alcohol

One guy is seen smoking weed. Some wine and beer in social situations.
