Summary of Season 1 (1961) - 1 disc

Jay Ward's classic cartoon series "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show" featured "Peabody's Improbable History," which set the standard boy-and-his-dog formula on its ear with professorial talking canine Mr. Peabody and his sidekick, a young boy named Sherman. Together, the duo traveled back in time to meet famous people. This video features 15 vintage adventures, including visits with the Duke of Wellington, Beethoven, Magellan and others.

Common Sense Note

Parents need to know that the classic cartoon series Mr. Peabody & Sherman features short, fictitious stories about the oddball duo going back in time to visit notable historical figures. Expect some slapstick action and pipe smoking, but the overall series is mild enough for family viewing, and kids may enjoy some of the comical stories about the folks featured here. This being said, most of the show's humor and trademark puns will most likely go over kids' heads.
