Filmed in St. Paul's Cathedral as part of the BBC's 75th anniversary celebration, this performance of Edward Elgar's choral masterpiece tells the story of the death of an elderly sinner and his soul's journey to judgment. Andrew Davis conducts the BBC Symphony Orchestra with soloists Philip Langridge as Gerontius, Catherine Wyn Rogers as the Angel, and Alastair Miles, who sings the roles of both the Priest and the Angel of the Agony.
