The Dutch Masters: Van Dyck
The career of Dutch master Anthony van Dyck takes center stage in this installment of the Great Artists series, which offers an overview of the artist's paintings and the events that most influenced his work. Much like his mentor, Peter Paul Rubens, van Dyck (1599-1641) was inspired by Renaissance techniques and went on to become the leading court painter in England, creating portraits of King Charles and his son, the future King Charles II.
