Directed by George Sidney, a veteran of dozens of Golden Age MGM musicals, this glossy biopic of famed pianist Eddy Duchin stars Tyrone Power as the talented ivory tickler who was at the height of his career when he discovered he had leukemia. Duchin decides to pursue music at the urging of Marjorie Oelrichs (Kim Novak), a socialite who becomes his wife. But their wedded bliss is shattered when Marjorie dies giving birth to their son, Peter.
