The Emperor's Club
Based on Ethan Canin's short story The Palace Thief, the Emperor's Club traces the 30-year teacher-student mentor relationship between dedicated prep school teacher William (Kevin Kline) and troubled young Sedgewick (Emile Hirsch; Joel Gretsch plays him as an adult) who lives in the shadow of his senator father. When Sedgewick rebels, William sticks with him and helps him achieve great things, but the relationship is later tested. Rob Morrow co-stars.
