The Gentlemen of Titipu
Gilbert and Sullivan's famed operetta "The Mikado" gets the animated treatment in this colorful cartoon directed by Leif Gram. When Koko, the tailor of the Japanese town of Titipu, makes the mistake of winking at the emperor's beautiful daughter Kataisha, he's exiled to a dungeon and left to rot. Meanwhile, the emperor's son Nanki Poo falls in love with the beautiful Yum Yum, going so far as to fake his own death to be with her.
