A Hollywood classic is updated in this faithful remake of Neil Simon's comedy. Up-and-coming actor Elliott (Jeff Daniels) comes to New York armed with a sublease agreement for an apartment. There, he finds Paula (Patricia Heaton), an ex-dancer whose live-in love just abandoned her and her daughter (Hallie Kate Eisenberg). She refuses to vacate their home, so Elliott agrees to take them on as roommates. Soon, love blooms for the unlikely pair.
