Just as her career is about to take off, hoofer Carol Williams (Sally Forrest) learns that she has polio, and though her friends and dance partner (Keefe Brasselle) try to support her, she grows bitter and shuts herself away from them -- at first. With her career over, Carol eventually begins to look for ways to recover and to carry on with life. Director Ida Lupino's absorbing drama also stars Hugh O'Brian, Eve Miller and Lawrence Dobkin.
