Common Sense Note
Parents need to know that, in keeping with the traditions of the legend, Tom and Jerry: Robin Hood and His Merry Mouse is a swashbuckler with lots of cartoon swordplay, bows and arrows, and general derring-do. That action plays alongside the cat-and-mouse pratfalls always featured in this long popular series, with Tom most often the victim. Characters are pummeled, pounded, fired at with arrows, flattened, and more. There are no long-lasting injuries, no deaths; nothing is to be taken seriously. The Sheriff is a mildly scary villain. Maid Marian, with her curves, fluttering eyelashes, and coy behavior is leered at by an assortment of males.
Sexual
Content
Maid Marian is drawn with voluptuous curves and has a sexy walk. Men ogle her and she plays the flirt until her true heroism is revealed. She and Robin share a kiss. A series of supposedly embarrassing photos of the evil Prince John are shown (on a swing, on a bearskin rug, always clothed), but it's not clear how they are compromising.
Violence
The usual zany cartoon action. Tom and/or Jerry, as well as other players, are subject to: spectacular falls through the air, crashes into walls/trees, multiple swordfights, wild roller-coaster type rides, explosions, and fires. They are smashed, catapulted, shot by arrows, captured and thrown into a dungeon, kick-bounced, and threatened. The Sheriff of Nottingham (in this case, "Nothingham") is a mildly scary scoundrel with piercing black eyes and an evil grin.
