Common Sense Note

Parents need to know that Touchback is an uplifting "do-over drama" about a high school football star who gets a second chance to replay the big game in which a debilitating injury ends his sports career. As the clock ticks down, he's forced to decide what's really important. There are some thought-provoking moments as he compares the love of friends and family to the prospect of fame and glory -- but there's also some swearing ("crap," "ass," etc.), some hard hits on the football field, some drinking, a few kisses, and a scene in which teens go skinny dipping (no graphic nudity). But on the whole, this is a feel-good sports film that's appropriate for families with teens to watch and discuss.

Sexual Content

A few kisses. A high school student's girlfriend propositions him when her parents are out of the house. Four teens go skinny dipping in one scene, but no sensitive body parts are shown.

Violence

Football players deliver some pretty hard hits on the field, one of which leads to a gruesome injury.

Language

Language includes "ass," "crap," and "damn."

Social Behavior

When Scott gets the chance to change his life, he must decide what's really important: fame and fortune as a star athlete or the love of his family and the respect of his small-town neighbors.

Consumerism

Visible brands include Pabst Blue Ribbon beer and Jack Daniel's whiskey.

Drugs / Tobacco / Alcohol

Adult characters get passed-out drunk on whiskey. Two guys drink beer while they hang out together.
