When jobless band promoter Mitch Mason (John Cronin) happens upon a hot new dance -- the twist -- in a small-town club, he quickly tries to turn it into an overnight, national craze. Like its predecessor Rock Around the Clock, this nostalgic toe tapper features a slew of numbers by hit musical acts of the time. Included are Dion (singing "The Wanderer" and "Runaround Sue"), the Marcels (performing "Blue Moon") and Chubby Checker, aka Mr. Twist.
