Swiss conductor Philippe Jordan leads the Berlin Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester and the Vienna Philharmonia Choir in this stark production of Richard Wagner's opera "Tannhäuser," filmed live in 2008 at the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden, Germany. Robert Gambill stars as the gifted young vocalist Tannhäuser, and Roman Trekel assays the role of Wolfram, who vies with the singer for the love of Elisabeth, played by Camilla Nylund.
