Waiting for Happiness
Soon to immigrate to Europe, Abdullah visits his mother in a struggling village on the coast of Mauritania. Here, in the harsh narrow band between the desert and the ocean, the young man finds himself a stranger in his own land, unable to speak the local dialect and unfamiliar with the local customs. But while preparing to jump into the modern world, Abdullah learns to appreciate tradition in this stunningly beautiful film.
