Bobby Breen stars in this historically significant musical co-written by black poet Langston Hughes and actor Clarence Muse, set amid the segregation of pre-Civil War Louisiana. Young Tim Reid (Breen) turns to a kindhearted Cajun innkeeper (Alan Mowbray) for help when predatory lawyer Martin Dill (Edwin Maxwell) seizes Reid's family plantation. Featured songs include "Louisiana" and "Good Ground," tunes that were also penned by the screenwriters.
