Having endured as a child a sadistic training regimen at the hands of a militant coach in Communist-era Hungary, former gymnast Miklós (Zoltán Miklós Hajdu) starts afresh by moving to Canada and becoming a coach himself. But when he meets Kyle (Kyle Shewfelt), a young, rebellious athlete with true potential to become a champion, he must fight the urge to treat him cruelly. After all, it's the only thing he knows.
