This loose adaptation of Sleeping With the Enemy follows the trials and tribulations of Lalita (Madhuri Dixit), whose uncle is forcing her to marry a wealthy man. When she discovers that her husband-to-be (Raj Babbar) is cruel and abusive, she runs away. Finding a hiding place with a gay choreographer, Lalita starts her life anew. She's about to marry a kind friend of the choreographer (Rishi Kapoorwhen) her ex-fiancé shows up to take her back.
