Stripper with a heart of gold Amaryllis (Roselyn Sanchez) -- longing to dance on Broadway -- befriends an aging poet who inspires her to follow her bliss, but, ironically, a romance with a handsome doctor (D.B. Sweeney) may stand in the way. But her relationship, which has brought her joy, may actually be the impediment to realizing her dreams, something her literary pal has encouraged her to go after.
