A precursor to director Bille August's Twist and Shout, Zappa tells the story of three teenagers growing up in early-1960s suburban Copenhagen. Miserable at home, the boys find escape in shoplifting, sexual exploration and violence. Tension builds to a violent climax as the teens cave in to the adolescent pressures that overwhelm them in this taut coming-of-age story.
