Land-grabbing cattle baron Lew Wilkison (Edward G. Robinson) is a nettlesome thorn in the side of peaceful landowners living in his valley. Wilkison covets all the choice acreage, including the spread of John Parrish (Glenn Ford). Pushed too far, Parrish retaliates against Wilkison and his henchmen. Closer to the home front, Wilkison's wife, Martha (Barbara Stanwyck), is having a torrid affair with Lew's own brother. Rudolph Mate directs.
