The green-eyed Skarsgård landed his first film role at age 9, portraying the younger sibling of real-life brother Alexander in the Swedish thriller White Water Fury (2000). But it took nearly a decade and a leading role in the coming-of-age drama Behind Blue Skies (2010) for Skarsgård's career to flourish in earnest.
Since then, Skarsgård has stacked his résumé with eclectic and offbeat parts, earning a Guldbagge Award (Sweden's Oscar) nomination in 2011 for his work in the quirky comedy Simple Simon. In 2012, he signed on to star in the Netflix original series "Hemlock Grove," playing a small-town Pennsylvanian who sets out to solve a mysterious murder.
Based on the last book in Veronica Roth's "Divergent" trilogy, this absorbing sci-fi saga follows Beatrice Prior and Tobias Eaton as they venture into the unknown lands outside the walled city of Chicago, where they discover several shocking truths.
