Monteith's first role came in 2004 with an appearance on the sci-fi series "Stargate: Atlantis," and other guest shots followed on "Supernatural" and "Smallville." His star began to rise with parts in feature films such as Final Destination 3 (2006) and a seven-episode stint on the cable-TV show "Kyle XY." But Monteith rocketed to fame when he was cast as heartthrob Finn Hudson on the megahit "Glee" (2009-13).
The actor's other work of note includes a supporting turn in the romantic comedy Monte Carlo (2011). Monteith's talent was lost to the world, however, when he died July 13, 2013, at the age of 31.
