Clark found a new generation of fans in 1972 when he began hosting "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve." An annual event broadcast from New York City's Times Square, the show quickly turned into a cultural tradition.
During his long career, Clark chalked up scores of awards and honors, which include five Emmys and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. He died April 18, 2012, leaving an indelible imprint on pop music and a rich television legacy.
