In need of a storehouse for his stolen goods, a gangster known as The Ghost (Ricardo Cortez) blackmails ex-convict William "Pop" Bronson (Emmett Lynn), who now owns a café in the desert. But Pop's daughter (Jean Parker) doesn't want him mixing with criminals, so she dispatches her Army lieutenant boyfriend (William Marshall) to get help. Before he can return with reinforcements, the café is destroyed -- and The Ghost thinks Pop is to blame.
